Alert types for facilities and residents

Steps to enable alert types for your facility and for individual residents, so that alerts can be generated.

Written by Emma Ianson

An alert will only trigger for a resident when its alert type is enabled at both the facility level and the resident level. Use the steps below to enable alert types for your facility, then assign them to each resident.

Enable alert types for a facility

Enabled alert types become available for assignment to residents.

To enable or disable alert types for your facility, follow these steps:

  1. Click Admin, then click Care.

  2. Click Configure Alert Types.

  3. Select the alert types you want to enable, or clear any alert types you want to disable.

  4. Click Save.

Enable alert types for a resident

An alert type must be enabled for the facility before you can enable it for an individual resident.

To assign alerts to a resident, follow these steps:

  1. Click Residents in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click on the relevant resident.

  3. Click Clinical.

  4. Expand the Alert Preferences section.

  5. Click Edit.

  6. Select the alert types you want to enable for the resident.

  7. Click Save.

The resident is now be eligible to receive the selected alerts when the corresponding trigger conditions are met.

Changes not showing

After you save your changes, the updated alert preferences may not be visible straight away. If this happens, do one of the following:

  • Refresh the page.

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + R to perform a hard refresh of your browser.

Once the page reloads, the updated alert settings are displayed.

⚠️Important: Alerts only trigger when they're enabled for both the facility and the resident. If an expected alert is not being generated, check that the alert type is enabled in both locations.
