Access Point of Care Scorecard

You can see alerts, actions, medication and stock across your facility at a glance, and act on them from the Scorecard.

Written by Emma Ianson

The Scorecard gives you a single, at-a-glance view of what's happening across your facility right now. It covers alerts, care actions, medication rounds, missed medication, exceptions, as-needed medicines and stock levels. Every number is live and colour-coded, so you can tell in a second whether something needs your attention.

This article is for care home staff who need to check these areas and act on them. It covers the screen layout, filtering by facility, reading the tile colours, opening a detail panel, acknowledging an alert, and confirming that your changes were saved.

Understand the Scorecard screen

The screen has two main areas:

  • The header row, which shows the section label, a Saved indicator once you've made changes, the Take a tour button, and the Facility filter.

  • The tile grid, which shows up to seven tiles. The grid rearranges itself to fit your screen, with more columns on a wide monitor and fewer on a tablet.

📌Note: Depending on how your organisation has set up the Scorecard, some tiles may not appear. The Med Round, Missed Meds, PRNs Given and Med Stock tiles are hidden if medication features are switched off, and the Alerts tile is hidden if clinical features are switched off. Actions and Exceptions are always visible.

Filter by facility

If you manage more than one facility, you can narrow every tile to a single site.

  1. Click the Facility dropdown. It shows All Facilities by default.

  2. Choose a facility from the list.

Every tile and any open detail panel updates to show only that facility's data. To return to the combined view, click All Facilities at any time.

🤓Tip: Med Round numbers always reflect today's full medication round, so the facility filter does not change them.

Read the tile colours

Every tile uses the same colours, so once you know what they mean, you can read the whole grid at a glance.

Colour

Meaning

Grey

Nothing to worry about

Amber

Approaching a threshold, so worth a look

Red

Over the threshold, so it needs attention now

A tile's top border, background and main number change colour together.

Review the tiles

Each tile shows a large headline number and two or three smaller supporting figures, so you can spot patterns as well as totals.

Open a detail panel

Click any tile to see the records behind its number.

  1. Click the tile. Its detail panel opens below the grid.

  2. Check the panel title, which shows the area you're viewing, for example Alerts Detail View. The panel's left edge matches the tile's colour.

  3. Click the cross in the top-right corner to close the panel, or click the same tile again.

For the Alerts and Actions tiles, click Go to Alerts or Go to Actions to open the full module. Clicking a different tile replaces the panel's content straight away.

Acknowledge an alert

The Alerts panel groups active clinical alerts by resident. Use the All, Active and Acknowledged tabs to narrow the list, or use the Category filter to focus on a type of alert, such as falls, nutrition or skin integrity.

  1. Click Acknowledge on an active alert.

  2. In the pop-up window, choose who is acknowledging the alert from the staff dropdown.

  3. Enter a note explaining the action taken.

  4. Click Acknowledge Alert.

📌Note: You need to choose a staff member and enter a note. If either is missing, a message appears beside the field.

When you confirm, the alert's status changes to Acknowledged, and a confirmation appears in the bottom-right corner.

Confirm your changes were saved

Two things confirm that a change has worked. Whenever you record an administration, acknowledge an alert or complete an action:

  1. A green notification appears briefly in the bottom-right corner, for example "Alert acknowledged by" followed by the staff member's name.

  2. A "✓ Saved" pill with the time appears in the Scorecard header. If you've made several changes in the session, the pill shows a count too, for example "✓ Saved · 14:32 (3)".

Hover over the pill to see when and how many changes were saved.

Use the keyboard

  • Press Tab to move through the tiles, then press Enter or Space to open one. You don't need a mouse.

  • Screen readers announce each tile's name and whether it is selected.

  • Press Escape to close the guided tour or any action window.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see the Med Round, Missed Meds, PRNs Given or Med Stock tiles?

Your organisation may have medication-tracking features switched off for your role or facility.

I changed the facility filter, but a number didn't change. Why?

Med Round numbers always reflect today's full round across the whole facility group, so the facility filter does not change them.
