Schedule actions for residents

In this article, we explain how to schedule custom, assessment, and chart actions for residents.

You can schedule actions for residents to make sure the right tasks are assigned to the right staff at the right time.

⚠️ Important: Before scheduling any actions, review the resident’s care plan. Only schedule tasks that are relevant to their care needs. For example, don’t schedule bowel movement tracking for an independent resident.


Identify scheduling locations

You can schedule actions in two places:

  • The Resident tab under the relevant resident profile (Actions tab).

  • The Actions tab itself for scheduling for one or more residents at once..

There are three types of actions you can schedule:

  • Custom actions.

  • Actions related to assessment forms and documentation.

  • Actions related to charts.


Schedule a custom action

To schedule a custom action, follow these steps:

  1. Enter the action name.

  2. Add additional notes for staff.

  3. Choose the frequency.

  4. Set the due date and time.

  5. Select which roles should see the action.

  6. Set early and late parameters.

  7. Specify whether the action requires a witness.

  8. Choose which resident or residents the action applies to.

  9. Click Create Action.

The action will appear in the action schedule.


Schedule an assessment action

To schedule an assessment action, follow these steps:

  1. Choose the assessment type from the assessment template library.

  2. Add notes and choose the frequency.

  3. Set the due date, time, early and late options.

  4. Specify whether the action requires a witness.

  5. Choose which resident or residents the action applies to.

  6. Click Create Action.


Schedule a chart action

To schedule a chart action, follow these steps:

  1. Choose the relevant chart from the chart library.

  2. Add notes and choose the frequency.

  3. Set the start date and optional end date.

  4. Choose when staff should be alerted.

  5. Select whether alerts should repeat from the start time or after completion.

  6. Choose the resident the chart action applies to.

  7. Click Create Action.


Review scheduled actions

Go to the Manage Action Schedule tab to view all scheduled actions for residents in the facility.
