Follow these steps to create, populate and remove a Care Domain so you can organise your residents' Care Plans.

Written by Emma Ianson

Care Domains group related Observations, Goals and Interventions within a resident's Care Plan. Before you can use one, you'll need to create it and link it to the relevant form questions.

Create a Care Domain

To create a Care Domain, follow these steps:

  1. Click Admin, then click Care, then click Create/Edit Care Domains.

  2. Click the green Add a Care Domain button, enter the required details, then click Save.

Once created, the Care Domain must be linked to form questions before it can populate a resident's Care Plan.

Map form questions to a Care Domain

To link form questions to a Care Domain, configure the relevant form.

  1. Click Admin, then click Care, then click Forms & Charts Templates.

  2. Open the relevant form, then click Configure.

  3. Within the Care Plan section, click the arrow icon to expand the required question.

  4. For each question, choose the appropriate Care Domain from the dropdown under:

    • Observation.

    • Goal.

    • Intervention.

  5. Click Save once the mapping has been completed.

📌Note: A Care Domain only appears within the resident's Care Plan after the associated form has been completed and information has been recorded against that Care Domain.

Remove a Care Domain

You can't remove a Care Domain while it contains active entries. Before you remove it, strike through all of its active entries from the resident's Care Plan evaluation screen.

  1. Click Residents, then click Resident Profile.

  2. Click Care Plan, then click Evaluate.

  3. Expand the required Care Domain.

  4. Apply a Strikethrough to all active Observations, Goals and Interventions.

  5. Once the Care Domain no longer contains active entries, click Admin, then click Care.

  6. Click Create/Edit Care Domains, then click Archive.
