You can use the Clinical tab in Access Point of Care to view important health information about each resident. This includes allergies, indicators, baseline health data, alert settings, and chart preferences. Each section helps staff understand the resident’s clinical needs at a glance.

Access the Clinical tab

Use these steps to open the clinical details for a resident:

  1. Go to the Residence menu on the left-hand side.

  2. Select the resident you want to view.

  3. Click the Clinical tab in their profile.

Allergy information

This section shows any allergies recorded for the resident so staff can quickly check for risks.

Resident indicators

This section displays all active indicators linked to the resident.

  • Indicators marked as header visible also appear at the top of the resident profile.

  • These indicators highlight key clinical or care needs.

Clinical information

You can view the resident’s:

  • COVID‑19 status

  • Diet details

  • Special needs

  • Additional clinical notes shown in the profile header

Each item helps build a clear picture of the resident’s current health status.

Baseline health information

This section includes the resident’s usual clinical measurements, such as:

  • Bowel pattern (also shown in their bowel chart)

  • Height

  • Weight

  • Healthy vital sign ranges, such as recommended daily fluid intake

These baseline values help identify when observations fall outside their normal range.

Alert preferences

Alert preferences determine when the system notifies staff of changes in clinical data. There are two alert types:

Baseline health range alerts

Alerts triggered when measurements fall outside the resident’s individual healthy range, such as:

  • Blood pressure

  • Pulse

  • Blood glucose

  • Weight

General alerts

Alerts triggered by general thresholds, such as:

  • High temperature above 38°C

Chart preferences

You can review which charts are set up for the resident.
Examples:

  • If the resident requires regular weight monitoring, the weight chart may be active.

  • If the resident is independent with toileting, the bowel chart may not be activated.

Chart preferences determine what appears in the Charts tab.
