You can complete a National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2) chart directly from a resident’s profile in the mobile app. As you enter each observation, the system automatically calculates the total score, highlights risks, and displays any required escalation based on the results.
Follow along with our video guide.
From the resident's profile, tap Add Observation.
Choose NEWS2 from the library.
Specify whether care was given.
Enter the respiration rate.
Record whether the resident has any respiratory failure.
Enter the oxygen (O2) saturation.
Enter the systolic blood pressure.
Enter the pulse rate.
Choose the appropriate option for the resident’s level of consciousness.
Enter the temperature.
As you enter these values, the system calculates the full NEWS2 score and displays guidance based on the result. If the score reaches an escalation threshold, such as a total score requiring urgent or emergency action, or a single parameter scoring three or more, the system highlights the required escalation steps.
Enter the escalations required to manage the situation.
Enter any additional information.
